3.2 - Inline Measurement of Surface Roughness and OilfilmThickness
Dr. Martin Fieweger | AMEPA
Summary
Martin Fieweger (AMEPA GmbH) presented an advanced inline measuring system that measures the surface roughness and oil film thickness on strips in real time. This technology, which is used in the rolling of galvanized steel strips, enables continuous quality control directly in the production line. The system can measure across the entire width of the strip and is based on mid-infrared absorption to determine the oil film thickness and two-dimensional laser triangulation for roughness measurement. The background to this is that many parameters have quality-relevant influences during sheet metal forming. The data obtained in-line here can be used to adjust the process parameters in order to avoid rejects.
